Two businesses with a Kanata North presence recently partnered to support frontline workers in Ottawa by raising money to supply freshly made meals to hospital staff across the city.
McNally Gervan LLP and Pi Rho Grill launched a GoFundMe campaign at the end of April, calling on the local community to donate to their Shout Out a Meal for Healthcare Heroes fundraiser.
Donating an initial $5,000 to the initiative, McNally Gervan oversaw all donations, delivering them to the restaurant to fund the creation of meals. The campaign quickly surpassed its initial $15,000 goal and raised more than $17,000 for frontline workers.
The team delivered weekly meals to various departments of the Civic, General and Riverside campuses of The Ottawa Hospital, with every $2,000 providing enough meals for a small hospital ward for a week.
