A security software company with a significant presence in the Kanata North tech park has acquired its third company since a major rebranding in 2020.
Entrust – formerly Entrust Datacard – acquired Paris-based Antelop Solutions, a fintech company that enables financial institutions to issue secure digital credit and debit cards to customers.
The acquisition will help Entrust further develop its presence in the financial sector – adding to the existing list of secure digital ID products the company produces.
“Consumers want to transact seamlessly and securely, around the world and across platforms,” said Todd Wilkinson, CEO of Entrust. “Entrust is the world leader in secure payment card issuance – the combination of Entrust and Antelop Solutions will empower financial institutions with an unmatched portfolio of digital and physical credential issuance and transaction security solutions.”
All 30 of Antelop’s employees will join the Entrust team, further expanding the 2,500 person global team – over 300 of whom work out of the Kanata North R&D office.
The acquisition in September comes on the heels of two other notable mergers for Entrust – the acquisition of HyTrust in January and WorldReach in April.
Entrust has been full-steam ahead since the company’s rebranding, launching its Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) as-a-Service in the spring and establishing valuable tech partnerships with global names such as Microsoft, Google, VMWare, Amazon Web Services and Yubico.
