Companies from Canada’s largest technology park had their work on display at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas last month, with a focus on autonomous vehicle technology.
BlackBerry QNX unveiled its Android-enabled digital cockpit technology in a new concept car at the largest North American event for the consumer technology industry. Ford, which is working with Kanata’s QNX arm on autonomous vehicles, also demonstrated its cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) technology, which can be used to determine right-of-way protocol at four-way stops.
Ericsson partnered with Veoneer to demonstrate Learning Intelligent Vehicle (LIV 3.0), a research platform intended to gather data about driver-vehicle collaboration as cars become increasingly autonomous.
Ericsson’s IoT Accelerator, an IoT device connectivity and app development platform, was also showcased at an event focused on IoT technology.
